Moving Home Company carried out my large house move & were absolutely fantastic! Best removal company I have ever used at a very reasonable cost. From the attentive & patient office staff, to the packers, to the crew members on the day of my move - I received a top first class service. They were very professional, kept me fully informed throughout the whole process & very careful and meticulous whilst carrying out my move! I had a few issues and needed to change my dates around last minute, which they handled so well & accommodated my last minute changes at no extra cost! I will most definitely be using them again in future and can't thank them enough for making my experience completely stress-free! Thank you to all at MHC!

Moving from France to the USA, we asked the Moving Home Company based in London to take care of our shipping, the pickup date was on july 22nd 2013, delivery early december ! they told us and confirmed that it would take between 6 to 8 weeks only! we therefore had to buy many items due to the delay many broken items,(expensive paintings, antiques, guitars, china..) stolen items, then they ask for two estimates on repair, these estimates cost money, communication wars very poor, they kept beating around the bush as far as giving explanations, and all in all, despite being very polite, they cheated us I would not recommend this company to anyone S. Douzal.

It has just been a nightmare!! Don't trust this company, don't trust their saleforce. We had 24 boxes to send from France to San Francisco. They've been picked up in August 2013 (was scheduled for July and they've postponed several times) and delivered in January next year!! The boat left with 40 days late, the company said that there were some paperwork problem wioth other customers. Then, the boat was supposed to deliver our shipment in Oakland Harbor in California, but it actually went to NYC. The boxes have then been on a truck and it took 4 weeks to cross the US ! after having waited 5 weeks in NY. Everytime we were asking for some news, it was always the same message, don't wory, the shipment is on its way. The delivery team in San Francisco has been great but the boxes were all totally crashed, half opened for most of them. We had 4 bottles of wine broken mais many books damaged. Trust me, we have moved a lot internationnally and this never happenned! STAY AWAY from Moving Home Company!!

We asked Home moving company to take care of our moving from France to the USA, delivery was extremely late, they advertised an estimate of 4 to 6 weeks for the delivery, it took over 4 months!
Stolen and broken items, they asked for invoices for the damages, which included expensive guitars, I sent the invoices when I was able to get them, and have not heard from them since. The only time they responded is when I wrote a review on this site, maybe they will this time again.
we had to buy clothes and replace items due to the late delivery. All in all they advertise for a service they cannot deliver. Very unsatisfactory and dishonest .

Moved from Annecy, France to the UK. We had an appalling experience! They clearly use sub-contractors for everything which is why their service is so unpredictable (judging by the number of 1-star and 5-star ratings here). So fine if you get good sub-contractors, but if you don't, expect a world of pain.

The people who turned up to pack and load us were clearly inexperienced and broke a number of items. One of the men even told me this was the first time that he and his friend had ever done this type of work!

A couple of the men thought it was OK to smoke in our house without asking, including in our children's bedrooms where they left their cigarette ends on the floor!

We paid extra for certain pieces of furniture (dining table, etc) to be specially wrapped and treated with extra care. Every single one of these pieces of furniture was seriously damaged in some way. Two of them were beyond repair.

We also paid extra for their "insurance", but when I tried to claim, they argued with everything, even with the report provided by the furniture restoration expert they appointed!!
Eventually I called the insurance ombudsman cited in the insurance documents and within less than two weeks, they had adjudicated that The Moving Home Company was liable for the full amount of the claim.

I had a very good service from Moving Home Company, London. My move was small, but logistically complicated, from Scotland. I have to admit that the Customer Service of "Moving Home" (out of 6 other companies) was the best - Lewis Rance. He listened to my needs, and accommodated my requests, giving me the best price possible.
The move itself was smooth, timing agreed, the crew (Yakub Zadran and Bruno Alves Lopes) - cheerful, polite and helpful. Operations department is reachable. What else one possibly need?

I arranged my move at fairly short notice, however I found the company to be extremely helpful and professional in the organisation of my move. Derek who did the packing was exceptional he was very professional and packed my belongings with care and kept me at ease due to the vast number of items to pack. The movers were extremely good and my entire belongings arrived at my new premises without any damage whatsoever. Cost wise the company did an exceptional job for the price they charged me and I wouldn't have any doubts whatsoever in recommending them. If and when I move again I will certainly use them again and would like to thank all members of staff for the great job they did.

Avoid this company at all costs, I recently moved using them. They understaffed the job taking longer than normal and leading to sloppy packing, meaning items were damaged. They also packed incorrectly - taking things they'd been asked to leave. And even sent the wrong kind of vehicle!

They even lost, or threw out, a box full of my stuff that was not designated as refuse. When contacted about this they simply deny everything and offer no compensation nor apology.

Their communication was shockingly poor throughout, I had to constantly phone them, they lied over and over about getting back to me.

Truly disgusting, awful company. Luckily I haven't yet noticed anything being stolen as some other users have mentioned.

I ws absolutely disgusted with the service provided by moving home company. My requirements were a minimum of 4 people and 2 vans size 3.5 tonne. I repeatedly requested this and even the day before you confirmed this requirement. What evolved was a fiasco. Primarily the shambolic service stems from a lack of courtesy and respect for the customer. The first van turned up at 10.15 after I repeatedly chased. The number of people accompanying the van was 3 and not 4 as I requested. I phoned to understand where the second van was and was told it would arrive within the hour. When I phoned again about the location of the second van was told it would be there within another hour. At 11.30 The first van after arguing with your manager decided to leave. I was left flabbergasted with this action. I phone up to understand what was happening and was assuered another van would be there in 25 minutes. When I challenged this I was told it could be longer. At this point I had lost complete trust with moving company having been already lied to twice and already wasted half a day. ;.

We were very happy with our deliveries (we had two), the shipment was passed on to the Moving Home Company from our US shipping company.  The communication from the moment that the shipments came to the UK was excellent, the only thing which would have been better was to have more than 24 hours notice that our shipments were arriving. The delivery was almost exactly when we were told (within about 30 minutes of the beginning of the delivery window).  The delivery men were courteous and efficient. Overall this part of the move was a very good experience.

Very poor experience throughout for a delivery from London to Tokyo. I initially went with them because the quote looked most competitative. Having said repeatedly I wanted to know all costs up front, I was hit with extra fees continuously. The final cost was more than 3 times what I initially expected. The delivery was very late without any prior warning or updates. This cost me alot of money and was very stressful as I had to stay in serviced apartments and couldn't commit to a new home until it arrived. Items were not properly packed and so glass, crockery and china was broken. Clearly the boxes were not stored properly as my bedding and clothes arrived covered in mould. While dealing with 'customer services' I had to chase for a response for every email sent. The insurance payout from them has only just arrived nearly 4 months after the delivery and it is less than the premium I paid. A terrible company to deal with and I strongly urge people to pay more and use someone else, it will probably end up cheaper anyway.

We used MHC to do a removal from Europe to Asia. Inital contact was very good and sales person very nice. Price quoted was reasonable compared to other companies.

1st surprise was when 2 guys and a small truck turned up to pack a 6 bedroom house..in supposedly 2 days. Obviously did not happen and it ended up being 4&1/2 days.

The estimate of the volume was way off and they struggled to put everything in the truck they brought.
They had also not planned enough packing material and had to buy additional. they bought "DIY" type boxes totally unsuitable for items that were going to spend 3 months in storage and 4 weeks at sea.
Crystal glasses were packed in paper and layered between cloths and linen in normal boxes. Some boxes containing China were not labelled Fragile.

Furniture was dismantled to its smallest components and boxes comprising these elements were not numbered in sequential numbers..making it impossible on arrival to retrieve quickly all elements.

The entire shipment was packed in a bigger container than planned (because of the estimation error)..with fragile and small boxes at the bottom. Boxes were not secured properly in the container, resulting in boxes collapsing.

The movers that received the container on arrival said they would not even pack things in that manner for a local move, they were very reluctant to open the boxes as they could see that they were very damaged and did not want to be held responsible.

The entire thing was a nightmare, a lot of things that were not insured because they should have never been damaged were damaged simply because of bad packing and carelessness.

I think I made the best choice by selecting Moving Home to ship my goods from London to Mauritius. I had an excellent experience from the beginning with the sales person upto the end. I have been kept informed about my shipment step by step, all my inquiries were replied promptly. The day of loading the packers took all their time to pack professionally and export wrap all my furniture. The movers were friendly and helpful.
And we were also satisfied by their partner's service in Mauritius.

Moving for the first time, I was very nervous and stressed but from initial point of contact Moving Home Company’s staff were very informative and polite. They sent their representative for a survey which was very helpful and thorough. The quote was competitive and all my requirements were taken into consideration. The crew was very polite and helpful. They protected all my furniture and handled everything with care. I would recommend the Moving Home Company for their honesty and efficiency.

I had a move from London to Mauritius with no problems at all. I was very happy with the price and the excellent customer service. Someone came to do a survey to give me an estimate on how much everything would cost. I was given a very competitive price with full service. The team who came to pack and collect my goods were very friendly and on time. When my goods arrived in Mauitius it was handled with care and nothing was damaged. Very pleased with the move overall and good communication all the way. I am now in Mauritius and loving the weather so I do not ever want to return back to London. However if I ever need to move again I will definetly be using this company :-).

I had a very positive experience with the moving home company.  The moving agent that helped me was courteous, friendly, helpful, prompt, answered emails quickly, and understood when I tried to send her documents on time (that didn't always work from my side).  I appreciated the company's punctuality and the driver's/delivery men's courtesy and promptness.  Overall, it was a very good experience.  My shipment originated in the USA and the final destination was Switzerland.  All items were intact and in good condition on delivery.

I used The Moving Home Company (also known as MIC and MHC) for the first time in 1996 and they moved me two times since in 2002 and 2004. Each time I put more in storage, safe in the knowledge that my personal possessions would be kept safely.
 
On the first move they a smashed a glass kitchen splashback panel for an expensive German kitchen and appologised but never offered any form of compensation. However as they had my things securely stored I continued to use them.
 
When I finally came to view my goods in storage in 2012 ahead of delivery I was shocked to see that the largest most expensive item was missing and there was neither an excuse or explanation as to where it had gone. How big was this item that had gone walkies? Could it have slipped into someone's pocket unnoticed? No! It was a boat on a trailer. It could only have been removed by a car with a tow bar or one of their trucks. (Sadly for the particular water baby that took my boat, one of the staff slipped up and mentioned the name of the thief who stole it). On this basis we agreed a sizable discount on the outstanding arrears (I had already paid them tens of thousands over the years) on the basis that I would accept the goods as seen and keep schtum.
 
On inspection of my goods I looked hard to check some of the other larger items were still there and they were. However when they finally got around to delivering them to me several months later (they promised a few dates, never delivered and subsequently cost me several hundred pounds in alternative storage facilities) the items that I'd only noted being present a few months before we're now missing. Yes, they just couldn't stop stealing! The company bleated on about what a huge discount I'd been given, but in reality I got a discount on the storage of items that they'd already stolen! This of course is fraud. Getting a discount in their opinion gave them carte blanche to cherry pick from my personal possessions at will! Other smaller items were inexplicably missing too. Every framed picture was smashed, furniture was dirty and stained. 
 
I immediately and repeatedly asked for my missing goods which they say they do not have and have since asked them for a full refund of the last payment (£4000 in cash) which they have not responded to. The police are now investigating the incident and the individuals that have conspired in this criminal activity (that's theft and fraud. I was advised that with exception of the boat thief that was named by Dave it might be hard to prove who stole the other items. However everyone who denied knowledge of it (Mick, Sharna and Dave) are legally complicit in a criminal conspiracy to commit fraud and theft).
 
If the company still exists by the time you read this and the crooks that work there are not enjoying a couple of years of Her Majesty's finest porridge, I strongly suggest you use another company. The Moving Home Company will steal your most valued possessions and then break what's left. 
 
AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

This was my third move in the last 5 years and yet again Moving Home have provided an excellent service. 
I requested 2 of the same crew who moved me previously and they never let me down.  Happy smiling faces greated me on what should have been the most stressfull of days. 
 Everything was packed and loaded on day one with delivery the next day.  How these guys pack so quickly and efficiently is beyond me.  I did expect at least one break afterall they are only human but not one.  I have nothing but praise for the guys.  I will definately use them again without hesitation.

I used Moving Home Company for moving my belongings from London to the South of France. They gave me the best value quote (out of a good dozen removal companies) and I decided to go ahead with them. The communication with Sales was very good and the employee was bilingual which can be handy for some. They organised to collect from my storage company, picked up a key from my friend first, even disposed of one item for me, all without me having to go to the U.K to supervise. They collected early and delivered to France one day ahead of the due date. I received everything in excellent condition, there were no items missing, no damages either. The only 'weak point' I would say is that only one man delivered. So I ended up helping this man going up and down my flat. I didn't like the fact that the lorry was left wide open in the street while we moved the stuff in and anyone from the street could have grabbed some bag or box if they wanted to! But other than that, I am extremely happy with the overall service. All in all, I would not hesitate to recommend this company, based on my experience. They are trustworthy and professional and if needed, I would not hesitate to use their sevices again.

It was our misfortune to be moved by this company just under a year ago and it has taken that long to finally admit defeat in gaining any suitable recompense and for the bad taste to leave our mouths following their unprofessional and dishonest behaviour.
 
Our only hope is that this review and that of the gentleman two below will prevent anyone else from falling victim to these immoral amateurs.
 
The crux of our complaint was that they damaged a bookcase by failing to move or dismantle it correctly; when attempting to move a two-part bookcase they basically dropped it to the floor and it split in two. This was the fault of their least reliable employee trying to move it on his own. He spent most of his time moaning that everything was too heavy, when he wasn't taking personal calls on his mobile or scratching his psoriasis-covered arms. A clearly more experienced colleague was actually in the process of dismantling it correctly and actually shouted "Nooo!" as the other one did the damage.
 
As soon as the damage occurred the man in charge said there was no problem as we had taken out their insurance so we just needed to photograph the damage, fill out a claim form and we would be recompensed with no questions asked. This of course placated me at the time but was apparently a ruse which turned out to be FAR from the truth. After initially discussing replacement or repair options they then bleated that their t&c's state that they are not liable for any damage as it was dismantled "on my instruction". In reality, they had sold us their dismantling service as a particular skill! This amounts to saying: "Please take up our extra skilled service of dismantling your furniture and also take out our insurance cover, but if we break anything it's not our fault"!?? They then offered a desultory £50 "goodwill"(!) gesture which obviously would cover nothing. So essentially their insurance policy is insurance for them, not for the customer so is not worth the paper it is printed on-BEWARE. After politely trying to get a more honest and reasonable response from their office it became clear that SHARNA NELSON's sole purpose in this company is to stonewall callers and deflect complaint away from the mysterious so-called "managers" whose ultimate decision on compensation it apparently was, yet who I never got to speak to or any response from, if they ever even heard of my case. She then had the brass neck to suggest that I was attempting to blackmail them, as I had stated that I was going to post an honest review of my experience on  review sites such as these. No wonder they do not want people posting honest reviews if that is the standard of their "service". I have barely even mentioned the unprofessional nature of the move generally; how on arrival they seemed to think the job was much bigger than suggested, despite having done a pre-move assessment they needed to call in reinforcements from another, clearly more experienced crew who actually seemed like they had undertaken a house move before. They also took so long to unpack at the other end that they were moaning about what a long day it was when they knew exactly what they were going to be moving beforehand! I would have let all this AND the damage slide however, if they had done the decent thing regarding the repair. An odd unreliable employee can obviously be excused but when the company management or their representatives try to weasel their way out of compensation that is clearly their responsibility this dishonesty needs to be publicly addressed, which thankfully sites like this now give us the opportunity to do so. I welcome their response to this 100% honest review, though unlikely as cowards have a habit of keeping their heads down. It is the first time we have used a "professional" moving company as opposed to a "man and van" and probably the last. DO NOT TOUCH WITH A BARGEPOLE!!

I have used Moving Home Company twice in the last year for moves within London . They have been helpful and efficient each time, taking property to three different locations including storage from the first move and then retrieving the stored items  and repacking other belongings for the second move. They did the move at the time I wanted and dealt with the need to dismantle a sofa without complaint. The items kept in store were all packed very thoroughly and came out in good condition.

I have had a very poor experience with this company. The initial Sales and Customer Service is very friendly.

From the day you make the payment, till the time the delivery happens you will run into problems almost every other day.

1) Packers arrived 12 hours late than the designated time
2) The packers were asleep and exhausted. They did not even come properly equipped and were under-staffed.
3) When the shipped goods arrive to your new destination, they work with another agency and do not take any responsibility for them
4) I over-paid just to get my goods delivered by $220 which MOVING HOME COMPANY refused to pay inspite of it written in contract that there will be no extra charges.
5) The customer service number is never available and I had to call multiple times from another country and numerous emails to get an answer back.

PLEASE AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ANY COST.

To say I am impressed with my move that was carried out this week is an understatement. Thank you to all at Moving Home Company for such a great service you provided me with from the surveyor, to the admin team to the crew on the day.
I was a bit worried about using this firm after reading such mixed reviews, but luckily the sales team put my mind at rest. I am now so relieved I went with them.
They kept in regular contact with me before the move, which I really appreciated. Nothing was ever too much.
I have moved a few times over the last couple of years, but I have never received such a good , professional service like I did this time round.
Do not be put off by what you read - speak to Sam or Keith and let them explain the level of service this company delivers.
A great bunch of people, who I will most definitely be recommending to others!! Thank you MHC!!
